Ode to Produce (organic, that is)

"Look at us," the Apples said,
To Bananas ripe and fruity.

"We start off green and end up red,
That is our only duty."

The Bananas they did not reply
Merely chuckling to the Pineapple

Who furrowed its brow and asked, "Now why
Should any of us give a crabapple?"

The Squash did sternly shake its head
And nudged awake the Broccoli

Who snored so as to wake the dead
Nearly frightening the Kiwi.

The Carrots strove to do their best
To ease the conversation

But then the Salad walked around undressed
To everyone's consternation.

The Mango jumped on Zucchini's head
Which made him rather snooty

The Mushrooms simply went to bed
And dreamt of Kale, the cutie.

I can't take credit for this one--this was all M's brainchild! And yes, such a poem does make me swoon! :)

Good Lord. If I'd have known it was going to be posted, I'd have chosen my rhymes more carefully! Not that this doodle is a poem. And not that I'm a poet.

I am, however, a darn good dog-walker!

The poem was great!

Is it wonderful to get a gift of produce every Thursday? I guess I shouldn't be jealous. I've been known to go to four different markets on a Saturday....

I don't know what made my day more- the poem, or the doggie pictures from your last post. Either way, thank you!

Great poem! Go M go. Nicely done, made me grin from ear to ear (corn ears, of course)!

That was a fab comment you made on my blog btw, i'm so with you about that quasi-wannabe "vegetarian"... as IF!
